L’ AQUÀRIUM DE BARCELONA HAS TAKEN THE DECISION TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE ITS INSTALLATIONS, FOLLOWING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE COMPETENT HEALTH AUTHORITIES.
Barcelona, 13 March 2020. L’Aquàrium de Barcelona, the leading Mediterranean-themed marine centre in the world, has decided to temporarily close its installations, starting today at 3 pm. This is in line with the prevention guidelines issued by the competent health authorities.
At all times, we have acted under the prevention guidelines issued by the WHO and the Generalitat of Catalonia’s health authorities. For this reason, we must cease our activities, in order to avoid a possible chain of transmission for the virus.
Maria José Peretó, the Managing Director of L’Aquàrium de Barcelona declared: “L’Aquàrium de Barcelona must follow the measures that ensure the safety of our visitors and workers at all times, in order to avoid any risk of contagion and/or propagation. I would also like to say that the species that live in our installations will continue to be cared for every day (by our centre’s biologists and technical team) in order to ensure the well-being of our animals”.
With the aim of resolving any queries and continuing to assist our visitors and collaborators, the following email addresses are still available: [email protected] , [email protected] y [email protected]
L’Aquàrium de Barcelona thanks you for your comprehension. We hope that the measure we are taking will help us to quickly recover from this pandemic and prevent its propagation. Having been an essential part of Barcelona for the last 25 years and believing in our motto: “Love in order to protect”, now, more than ever, we are coming together to deal with this situation, in order to ensure the health and well-being of everyone.
