Sea Laboratory

Marine conservation, research and education

In an increasingly degraded and hostile world for many species, driven by deforestation, habitat destruction, the exploitation of food and energy resources, poaching, environmental pollution, climate change and overfishing, our work focuses on contributing to the conservation of marine biodiversity.

Through breeding programmes for threatened species, we work to preserve organisms that are currently in a vulnerable situation.

Mediterranean Marine Conservation Centre

Our work in conservation, research and environmental education has led us to be recognised as a Mediterranean Marine Conservation Centre.

This recognition reflects our commitment to the protection of marine ecosystems and the preservation of their biodiversity.

The Sea Laboratory is a space designed to give you a close-up view of this scientific and educational work, and to bring you closer to the projects we make possible every day.

Featured species of the laborator

At the Sea Laboratory you can discover up close some of the species we work with in our conservation programmes, such as:

  • Seahorse (Hippocampus guttulatus)
  • Red starfish (Echinaster sepositus)
  • Nursehound (Scyliorhinus stellaris)

These species represent the collective effort to protect the marine wildlife of the Mediterranean and ensure its long-term survival.
