This small carpet shark has a narrow, elongated body, brown colored with darker brown bands, and scattered with white and black spots.
They are nocturnal reef dwellers where it is easier for them to catch prey that detect with a sensory barbels located near each nostril. They feed on small fish and invertebrates.
REPRODUCTION
It is oviparous, one or two egg cases are released every six to seven days on average for approximately 2 months.
INTERESTING FACTS
The Whitespotted bamboo shark is used for human consumption and in traditional Chinese medicine. They are harmless to humans.
